Biography
Social Breakdown is an original rock band formed in 2016 in São Paulo - Brazil, building its identity from punk rock and skate punk, while incorporating influences from alternative rock and hardcore. With an energetic sound and lyrics that navigate between personal conflicts and social criticism, the band has been consolidating its space in the independent scene. Since their first releases, such as the demo "Nothing Changes If You Don't Even Try" (2017), which led to a run of over 30 shows across the state of São Paulo, the group has shown consistency on the road and musical evolution. In 2019, they released the EP "Just My Lazy Way To Be", marking a more mature and structured phase, followed by new singles and the EP "Karma", released in partnership with Rio do Meio Records, featuring a heavier approach and direct hardcore influences. In recent years, the band maintained a continuous output, with singles like "Orange Is The New Crack", "Chocolate and Bread", and "Under Control", alongside independently produced music videos, reinforcing their DIY identity. In 2026, Social Breakdown begins a new phase with the release of the single "Debug" (April), which anticipates the EP "Human Errors" (May). The new work presents a more solid and cohesive sound, exploring themes such as human flaws, social pressures, and personal reconstruction, reflecting the band's artistic maturation after years of activity. Currently, the lineup consists of Wellington de Castro (vocals and guitar), Rafael Espia (bass), Lincoln Santana (drums), and Lenny Siarom (guitar).
